Tough start for Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño in the Chitimacha Louisiana Open, Web.com Tour tournament held on the Le Triomphe course in Broussard. The Spanish golfer was not on point off the tee as he only caught four fairways, but even so, he managed to squeeze out a round under par, which means all of his options in the tournament remain in tact.
Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño is back in action this week in the Web.com Tour. He’ll be playing in the Chitimacha Louisiana Open, a true classic on the second division PGA Tour calendar. It’s been held since 1992 every year without fail, and within the winner’s circle are brilliant golfers, such as Jimmy Walker, Johnson Wagner and Wesley Bryan.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (-15) finished in fourth place in the Qatar Masters after shooting a 68 in the last round, in which he even entertained the idea of passing up the leader, finishing three shots away from the winner, Eddie Pepperell (-18). In any event, they’re fantastic results in his return to the European Tour after having missed the cut last week in Oman.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (-11) shot under seventy in his third round of the week at the Doha Golf Club (69 shots), although his chance at the win has been notably reduced, finishing five shots away from the leaders, British golfers Fisher and Pepperell, in a round with lots of birdies.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño’s (-4) re-encounter with the Doha Golf Club was outstanding: he shot a 68 in the first round of the Qatar Masters, leaving him in 15th place, three shots away from the leaders.
Second week in a row for Gonzalo Fernández Castaño in the European Tour, this time in the Qatar Masters after having missed the cut last week in Oman. Despite this minor setback, the golfer from Madrid will go into the tournament very focused and at a good point in his game, ready to bring in the first euros of the season on this side of the Atlantic.
