Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño will play in the BMW PGA Championship this week. The golfer from Madrid is back to the European Tour, and will arrive in style to the most important event on the regular calendar on this side of the Atlantic.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (-17) shot a magnificent 62 today, finishing with the best score of the last round in the BMW Charity Pro-Am at the Thornblade Club (Greer, South Carolina), which caused him to sky rocket 44 positions up in the rankings, finishing in 19th place and most importantly, he moved up five spots in the Web.com Tour rankings (now in 42nd place, closer to the top 25). A reason to celebrate for the Spanish golfer, who had already turned in a fantastic card of 65 shots last Thursday on the same course.

Gonzalo Fernández Castaño did not make the cut in the Knoxville Open after shooting a 72 in the second round. Just at the limit, with an accumulated total of PAR, but not enough to play over the weekend, by one shot. The golfer from Madrid finished in a desperate attempt to salvage what he had fought for at the Fox Den Golf Country Club (Knoxville, Tennessee) with a birdie on the 18th hole, but his fate in the tournament was sealed in the two holes prior, both bogeys, which left him with practically no room to work with.
