Gonzalo Fernández Castaño had to bid a premature farewell in the North Mississippi Classic, Web.com Tour tournament which started this Thursday at the Country Club of Oxford.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño did not finish the Open de España at the National Center in Madrid as he had hoped. He fought to the bitter end to make the cut, despite the fact that he never quite felt comfortable at any given time. He paved the way for an amazing comeback on the back nine of the National Center course, and had high hopes after the outstanding eagle on the 5th hole. There were four left to play (he started on the 10th) and he needed two birdies.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño shot a 73 in the first round of the Open de España. It wasn’t the ideal start, affected by very difficult playing conditions, with wind and rain at the National Center golf course in Madrid.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (+2) did not make the cut in the Savannah Golf Championship after shooting PAR in the second round. He needed an exceptional score to make it through to the weekend after the 74 on Thursday, and throughout the majority of the round he kept his options alive, with a partial score of two under par for the day on the first twelve holes, and another good handful of options for birdie that he was not able to convert. However, playing for all or nothing on the last third of the round, very much in need of birdies (the cut went up to -3), is when the errors and the bogeys came, and he was left with no chance at making it through.
Things did not start off well for Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (+2) in the Savannah Golf Championship, after shooting a 74, which means he will need to pick up the slack in the second round if he wants to play through the weekend. The cut is currently established at -1 after the first round.
Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño gave it everything he had to make the cut in the Chitimacha Louisiana Open, Web.com Tour tournament, happening this week at the Le Triomphe Golf Club in Broussard.
