A huge weight was lifted off Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño's shoulder today on the Hillside Golf Club course in Southport. The golfer from Madrid shot a 68 and made the cut in the British Masters. It's the fourth cut he's made this season.
Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño will play in the British Masters starting this Thursday, European Tour tournament held on the Hillside GC course in Southport, north of Liverpool. The golfer from Madrid traveled to the UK after participating in a tournament for charity, Los Amigos de Guille, in Asturias, Spain.
Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño (+6) did not get off to the best start at the Hassan II Golf Trophy. In reality, the score does not accurately reflect, nor do justice to his game. The golfer from Madrid came out swinging, and put up a tough fight in a round which started off well, but a very cruel epilogue pushed him to the edge of not being able to make the cut.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño is back in action this week in the European Tour at the Hassan II Golf Trophy in Rabat. It’s the start of a new tour, traveling from Miami, where he currently lives, flying across the pond to play in this tournament and the British Masters in two weeks.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (-2) finished out his participation in the Kenya Open with a score of 72, one over par for the day on the course, which caused him to go down twenty spots in the rankings, ending up in 45th place.
The Kenya Open turned into a struggle with a few recurring issues for Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (-3, shot a 73 in today's round), mainly in the first third of each round, fighting against impatience and setbacks in the score, that he just wasn't able to overcome.
