Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño will play in the British Masters starting this Thursday, European Tour tournament held on the Hillside GC course in Southport, north of Liverpool. The golfer from Madrid traveled to the UK after participating in a tournament for charity, Los Amigos de Guille, in Asturias, Spain.
Fresh and ready to go after a week’s rest, the Spanish golfer is confident that he can turn things around this season, after coming to somewhat of a standstill as far as results. He’s working hard on the driving range, and he trusts that sooner or later, his hard work will start to pay off on the course.
The British Masters is a good week to make a turning point. Gonzalo has fond memories of this tournament, which he won in 2008, when it was held at the Belfry. Additionally, the Hillside is a links course, a style that adapts well to Fernández Castaño’s game.
He’ll play in the tournament this Thursday starting at 7:40 am, local time, with Min Woo Lee and James Morrison.
