A huge weight was lifted off Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño's shoulder today on the Hillside Golf Club course in Southport. The golfer from Madrid shot a 68 and made the cut in the British Masters. It's the fourth cut he's made this season.
Gonzalo played a fantastic game of golf on Friday. He made five birdies and just one error. This is his second best score of 2019 (he shot a 66 in Kenya and a 68 in Saudi Arabia) and has proven his skill and proficiency, once again, when it comes to playing on a links style course.
After today's stellar performance, the fourteenth best of the day, he is currently in 34th place, ready to focus on preparing for the weekend. He's only four shots away from the top ten, and eight from the leader, Matt Wallace.
