Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño finished the first round of the AT&T Byron Nelson with a par, PGA Tour tournament held at TPC Four Seasons in Irving, Texas. The Madrid native had a solid round of golf, with three birdies and three pars, which is grounds for making the cut, provisionally established at par.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño put his game face on and is ready to play seven consecutive weeks of golf, granted he makes it to the US Open in the preliminary round that he’ll participate in on June 8th (he’ll play three tournaments for sure before the second ‘major’ of the year, and another three afterward). This intense stretch will begin tomorrow, Thursday, at TPC Four Seasons Resort (Irving, Texas), where one of the classics of the PGA tour will kick off, the AT&T Byron Nelson.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño did not make the cut at the Wells Fargo Championship after an overall negative second round, in which he turned in a card for 78.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño is determined to make his painful withdrawal from the Spanish Open worth his while. The Madrid native got off to a great start in the Wells Fargo Championship, with a card for 71 in the always complicated Quail Hollow in Charlotte.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño will participate in the Wells Fargo Championship this Thursday, PGA Tour tournament held at the Quail Hollow Course, in North Carolina. It’s one of the most traditional courses on the American tour calendar, and also one of the most difficult.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño will not be playing in the Spanish Open 2015. The Madrid native confirmed with the following message: “To my great disappointment, I will not be able to make it to the Spanish Open. I’ve been waiting up until the very last minute to see if I placed well at THE PLAYERS which would have allowed me to play in the Open, but the main reason is because I want to play in the PGA Tour to accumulate FedEX points in order to maintain my card, because I’ve had to fight hard to get to where I’m at. I tried to push it up until the very end.”
