Gonzalo Fernández Castaño will participate in the Wells Fargo Championship this Thursday, PGA Tour tournament held at the Quail Hollow Course, in North Carolina. It’s one of the most traditional courses on the American tour calendar, and also one of the most difficult.
The Madrid native is going after good results that will serve as a turning point to a season that didn’t exactly get off to the best start. Gonzalo needs to accumulate FedEX points as quickly as possible to achieve the objective of maintaining the PGA card for the third year in a row.
Quail Hollow is a very demanding course. In fact, the end, the 17th and 18th holes are the most difficult of the year in the PGA Tour, when speaking, of course, of the majors. It’s not a setting made for lots of birdies, one of the characteristics from which the Spanish golfer could benefit this week.
Gonzalo will play in the first round on Thursday starting at 6.20 pm, Spanish Peninsular time, together with Nicholas Thompson and Jhonattan Vegas.
