Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (-8) just slid past the cut in the BMW Charity Pro-Am after shooting a notable 69 in the third round on The Cliffs Valley course, the last of the three courses in the rotation, in Greer (South Carolina), where the tournament is being held.
The Spanish golfer got the good vibes flowing again from tee to green, accompanied by a solid performance with the putter, most of all on the first nine holes (partial of -4 on the 12th hole). He lost the rhythm a bit afterward and got a bogey on the last hole, which slowed down his progress on the scoreboard seeing as how there was a very high output of birdies. In any event, the golfer from Madrid managed to make the cut and create one last opportunity on Sunday to move up in the rankings, although the leader is too far off now, twelve shots ahead.
The final round will be held at the Thornblade Club, precisely the course where Gonzalo finished with a brilliant performance on Thursday with a total score of 65 shots. The Spanish golfer may need to pull off a similar score to place higher up in the rankings of the Web.com this week...
