Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño will play in the BMW PGA Championship this week. The golfer from Madrid is back to the European Tour, and will arrive in style to the most important event on the regular calendar on this side of the Atlantic.
Gonzalo had to wait until the last minute to make it into the tournament, but in the end, he earned a spot and crossed the Atlantic on Monday to be able to play in a tournament that he has not participated in since 2013. It’s time. The Spanish golfer is eager to compete in an event where he hasn’t performed so well in the past.
He’s played in Wentworth on six different occasions, and the outcome resulted in making four of the cuts, and one eleventh place as his best results. But coincidentally, Gonzalo will be playing in this tournament for the first time after having undergone some big changes to the Virgina Water course in London, by Ernie Els.
Gonzalo will play in the afternoon on Thursday. “I’m really excited to play in a tournament in which I had lost it a few years back. I really like the new changes to the course”, he assured on his own social media. Gonzalo will land in Wentworth with good confidence after having shot a 62 in the last round of the Web.com Tour last Sunday.
