Gonzalo Fernández Castaño signed off on 71 shots in the third round of the Puerto Rico Open. Another tough bout of wind on the Trump International Course in Rio Grande that the Madrid native resolved seamlessly, winning the course over and leaving himself some serious room for the win.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño made the cut at the Puerto Rico Open after turning in a card for 69 shots in the second round of the tournament. A weight was lifted from the Spanish golfer's shoulders and, above all, it put an end to an unbecoming stretch of twelve consecutive rounds of golf without finishing with less than seventy shots.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño started the Puerto Rico open off with 73 shots, a good result keeping in mind the difficult playing conditions of the first round at the Trump International Golf Club in Rio Grande. The wind was blowing nicely in this corner of the Caribbean and just one player, Spanish golfer Rafa Cabrera Bello, was able to finish without a bogey on his card.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño will begin his participation today in the Puerto Rico Open, PGA Tour event held on the Trump International Club in Rio Grande, in the heart of the Caribbean.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (+10) wasn't able to pass the cut at the Honda Classic, on a course, the PGA National Champions course (Palm Beach Gardens, Florida), that proved to be incredibly harsh during the first two rounds with those who are not hitting the ball well, or those who don't feel secure on the course.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (+6) succumbed to the tough situation in the first round of the Honda Classic in the PGA National (Palm Beach Gardens, Florida).
