Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño

Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño won't be playing this weekend at the Farmers Insurance Open. One fateful day on the Torrey Pines South Course left him out of the cut at his first tournament of the PGA.

Things just weren't going his way and the Madrid native wound up finishing off the score card with 83 hits, the worst performance of his career in the PGA Tour to date. “It was an upset”, as the Spanish golfer described it upon handing in his card. Gonzalo made nine bogeys and a double bogey during a session to forget, where he made less than twenty percent on the greens in regulation.

A tough day at the office. Next week will be a good opportunity to bounce back at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, held at the TPC Scottsdale in Arizona.
