Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño made his debut today at the Farmers Insurance Open with a par, making the provisional cut of the tournament.
The Madrid native player started off with two bogeys on the first nine holes (picked up on 10), but he made up for it on the return with two birdies on the 7th and the 9th to tie up the game at the Northern tour on the California course.
Nor Gonzalo's putt, nor his drive were refined at this point in the American season; however, he was able to maintain his presence in the tournament thanks to his solid iron shots. In fact, he was able to make up for it with more than 80% on the greens, despite not having been at his best off the tee. Gonzalo faces the Torrey Pines South Course tomorrow, Friday, a demanding challenge for any golfer. His tee time is at 9:00 am (PST)
