Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño didn't make the cut at the Wells Fargo Championship upon turning in his card for a 76 after the second round of the tournament, held on the Quail Hollow course in North Carolina.
The Spanish golfer made three birdies, three bogeys and two double bogeys for a round that left something to be desired, where his long game wasn't sufficient enough for the complicated course design.
But Gonzalo kept his cool and didn't lose his composer upon finishing the round. “Free weekend. My game this time around wasn't worthy of anything more”, he noted on his Twitter account.
Gonzalo's next appearance will be at The Players Championship next week at Ponte Vedra Beach. As far as the Wells Fargo tournament, after 36 holes of play, Marin Flores and Ángel Cabrera hold the lead, both with a -9.
