Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (-9) is still alive in the Web.com Tour Final, held in Atlantic Beach, Florida. The Madrid native is holding on tight to the ultimate goal after another outstanding display of strength and performance in the third round of the Web.com Tour Championship.
Gonzalo shot a 67 and is now in 34th place in the rankings, seven shots from the objective. He needs to finish in a sole sixth place, which is now set at -16. Thus, he would need an epic round this Sunday to accomplish this daunting feat. It will be very difficult, but not impossible.
And it’s important to note that both in the second and third round, Gonzalo has shown that he can shoot low scores on this course. He’s maintaining a high level of play from tee to green and his putt was on today, which means he can still earn the PGA Tour card. Either way, the Spanish golfer will not go down without a fight, and will give everything he’s got to get it.
