Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño has not given up in the fight at TPC Wakefield Plantation, North Carolina course where the Rex Hospital Open is being held, Web.com Tour tournament. The Madrid native played under par in the third round and moved up almost twenty spots.
Gonzalo shot a 70 in an intense day, with three birdies and just two bogeys, and is now in 43rd place. He’s far from the privileged few at the top, but there are still 18 holes left to play where he can continue fishing, scratching and clawing for dollars and points for the Web.com Tour general ranking. It all adds up and everything counts. Gonzalo is fully aware of this and that’s why he refuses to give up at any point in time.
Gonzalo will play on Sunday at 3:30 pm Spanish time, with American golfer Tyler Duncan. All rounds under par on the difficult Raleigh course are a good source of funds toward the grand objective of recovering the PGA Tour card at the end of the season.
