Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño answered back on the last nine holes of the second round in the El Bosque Mexico Championship and made the Web.com Tour tournament cut held in León, in Guajanato.
Fernández-Castaño took on the 10th hole at one over par for the day with a total of par. He wouldn't have made the cut with that score. However, from there the Madrid native decided to turn it up a notch and landed three birdies (10, 13 and 16), and shot a 70 to make the cut with room to spare.
Gonzalo is temporarily in 34° place, three shots from the top ten and ten from leaders, Brad Fritsch and Wesley Bryan. This Saturday he’ll play in the third round, although the time is yet to be confirmed because the second round was suspended due to lack of light.
