Only ten scores under par in the last round of the Valderrama Open de España and Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño was the star of one of those cards. Thus, a difficult week finishes on a good note, with very complicated playing conditions, although great on a personal level, which was the Madrid native’s reencounter with Spain and the European Tour after a long absence.
Gonzalo shot a 70 for a total of +13. It was his best round of golf of the week, finishing in 34º place. He made four birdies and three bogeys and made it as far as three under par for the day after a really good start of the round.
If Saturday’s vibes weren’t good, Sunday made up for it. Fernández-Castaño played some solid golf, had amazing shots and created lots of options for birdies. Great momentum before traveling to Mexico this week where he will go up against a new battle with the Web.com Tour.
