Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (+4) did not make the cut in the Servientrega Championship, Web.com Tour tournament held at TPC Cartagena, on Colombian terrain, after shooting a 73 in the second round. The Spanish golfer was not able to carry the weight of the burden from the first round, which he finished with a partial score of three over par.
The wind didn’t make things easy on the Colombian course, as Gonzalo was going in this Friday with a partial of one under par on the first nine which left the door open for the weekend. However, an unfortunate stretch of three consecutive bogeys (holes 11, 12 and 13) sealed the Madrid native’s fate.
After the Web.com Tour tournaments in Brazil and Colombia, Fernández Castaño will compete for the third week in a row in the Open de España that starts next Friday in Valderrama. A nice re-encounter with European tour, without a doubt, although what he was looking for most of all now was to continue in the competition, far from the objectives set out in the Web.com and he needs to sort out his game and gain confidence.
