Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (-6) has managed to shoot a 69 for the third time in a row in the Brazil Champions presented by Embrace, Web.com Tour tournament held at the Sao Paulo Golf Club. It’s a good score and a reflection of a solid and consistent game, although it isn’t enough to make it to the top of the tournament where birdies are being made like there’s no tomorrow.
Gonzalo is currently in 52º place, seven shots away from the top ten. That being said, everything could change this Sunday. A relatively low round would allow him to gain a lot of ground and that should be the objective. Returning to the PGA Tour is a long journey forged little by little on Sundays like these at Sao Paulo. The Madrid native will give everything he’s got in attempts to continue along the same lines as far as birdies (he made five yesterday), while minimizing errors.
Gonzalo will play in the last round starting at 1:18 pm, Spanish time, together with New Zealander, Steven Alker.
