Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño finished the third round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, PGA Tour tournament held at the Bay Hill course in Orlando, with a 74.
It was a rough day, better off the tee than on Friday, but not quite able to fully recover. The Madrid native made four birdies, six bogeys and eight pars. On the first 11 holes, he only managed to make three pars, clearly demonstrating the constant give and take, him against the difficult Florida course.
It was the typical tough day at the office, with a few good birdies on the 16th and the 4th, where sinking the ball was a done deal, or on the 7th, making an incredible putt from six meters away. But generally speaking, the tournament was like the most demanding part of the Tour de France, a constant uphill battle. Two 3-putts, on the 1st, as a welcoming gift, and on the 17th, the icing on the cake to finish off a difficult round, did not help either.
Tomorrow, Sunday, will be the final stretch of the Arnold Palmer, a good opportunity to move up in ranking as far as possible and to finish off strong, just like in the WGC Cadillac Championship.
Adam Scott continues to dominate the tournament with his eyes on the Number One prize, currently held by Tiger Woods.
