Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño shot a 69 in the beginning of the grand finale of the Web.com Tour, tournament held at the Dye’s Valley Course in Sawgrass. A good start for the Spanish golfer, which puts him at just one shot away from the objective of recovering the PGA Tour card.
Gonzalo is one shot shy of seventh place, a position which would almost definitively secure him a spot in the top 25 of the Web.com Tour rankings.
Gonzalo started off with a birdie and a bogey on the first two holes and on the back nine, he made three incredible birdies which bumped him up high in the rankings. He caught seven fairways and nine greens, good stats on a difficult course, although this week it’s a bit more forgiving from recent rainfall.
Gonzalo is just one shot away from the top ten and four from the leader, Australian golfer Rhein Gibson. Today he’ll go out to play starting at 2:14 pm, Spanish time.
