Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño will compete in the Web.com Tour Finals this Thursday, the last and final part of the series that will determine whether or not Gonzalo will recover the PGA Tour card. The tournament will wrap up the Series Finals held on the Dye’s Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
Gonzalo will start the event in good spirits and with high morale after the unfortunate setback he suffered through last week in Ohio. He knows what he has to do, he’s conscious of the fact that he’s playing well and he’s ready and willing to do whatever it takes to achieve his goal.
Gonzalo will go into the final event in 48º place in the rankings of the Series Finals and he needs to end up among the top 25 in order to recover the right to play in the American Tour. He has to cover a lot of ground as far as moving up in the rankings, and for that he’ll have to finish in the top slots of the tournament. The numbers aren’t exact, but he will definitely secure the card if he ends up in the top five, he’ll have a high probability if he finishes in sixth or seventh, and from there, he’d have to recalculate according to how the other golfers perform. In any case, it’s a complicated mission, but not impossible.
Gonzalo will play this Thursday starting at 8:04 pm on the first hole of the course, together with Austin Cook and Rob Oppenheim.
