He shot a 71 yesterday in the second round of the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship, third test of the playoffs. Another round for par on the tough, demanding Scarlet Course at the University of Ohio. A score for par is a good step on a course where the leader is only at five under par, and the cut is situated at +4, the highest of the season in the Web.com Tour. Gonzalo made three birdies and three bogeys and is now in 21º place, three from the top ten and two from eleventh place, very close to the results that could grant him the peace of mind he's been working towards for next season.
The Madrid native will continue in the third round today. He'll go out to play starting at 6:10 pm, Spanish time, together with Harold Varner III.
