Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño began his participation in the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship today with a total of par, a good start in the afternoon session after an intense battle with the Scarlet Course in Ohio.
Gonzalo made four birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey, having caught more than seventy percent of the fairways. He’s among the top 30 of the tournament, just four shots away from the leader. Really tight rankings that could take an important turn this Friday.
Gonzalo, who started off on the 10th hole, was able to make it under par during the round, but the double bogey came down like a hammer on the 5th hole. Even so, he managed to come back with a birdie on the 7th to be able to walk away with a good taste in his mouth.
The leaders are Alex Aragon and Martin Flores, both 4 under par. Gonzalo will open up the course this morning, starting at 1:35 pm, once again with Svoboda and Gribble.
