Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño will begin his participation today in The Greenbrier Classic, PGA Tour event held on The Old White TPC in West Virginia, which will once again be granting spots for the Open Championship.
The Greenbrier is a very special week in the American tour. It’s a different tournament, all golfers truly put to the test and tension high. It’s quite possibly the course where the most birdies happen in the entire season. Thus, it’s an emotional battle against the card. If birdies don’t happen quickly, it’s easy to let the nerves take over and to fall apart mentally.
Gonzalo is prepared to bring out all the birdies he holds within. And what’s more, the one thing he’s demonstrated throughout the past few tournaments is that he has birdies up his sleeve to spare. However, he will have to succeed in avoiding importante errors which is, without a doubt, the problem that has been tampering with his scores in the past few tournaments as well.
Morale is high. The Madrid native is convinced that his week will come sooner rather than later, and he’ll go up against Greenbrier with a high level of energy and determination. Today he’ll play the first round starting at 2:20 pm, Spanish Peninsular time, together with Billy Hurley III and David Hearn.
