Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño made the cut at the AT&T Byron Nelson. A total comeback. The Madrid native couldn’t finish his round on Friday due to lack of light and he left the round with just four holes to go, which he played this morning. And just like that...
The Spanish golfer made a par on the 6th hole (he started on the 10th), a birdie on the 7th, par 5, another on the 8th, par 4 and finished with an excellent par on the 9th hole. All in all, Gonzalo ended up with one under par in total, after handing in a card for 68 shots. Gonzalo made the cut, although he’ll still have to make it through one more due to the high number of golfers who met the criteria as well. Thus, after the third round there will be another cut with the 70 top players and ties.
Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño was pleased with the results after not having made the cut in the previous four tournaments in a row. He'll play in the third round starting at 10.00 pm, Spanish Peninsular time, together with Hudson Swafford and Kyle Reifers.
