Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño one of Spain's leading golf professionals will donate 100 euros per birdie at the 2014 Spanish Open to the Make-A-Wish Spain Foundation Spain. This years host of the European Tour event is sponsored by Reale Seguros and hosted at the PGA Catalunya Resort.
Gonzalo is challenging other big names that will be at the Spanish Open, both national and international, to join him in this challenge to help to make the wishes come true of children aged from 3 to 18 years old, with severe medical conditions.
Make-A-Wish Foundation Spain is a non profit organization that helps children feel stronger, more energetic, more willing and able to battle their life-threatening medical conditions through their Wishes. In Spain they achieve it through different projects such as drawings, music and meeting their heroes. These experiences prove to them that, with work and effort, everything is possible, and that fear, pain and doubt change into strength, better life expectancy and happiness. We believe that a Wish Experience can be a game-changer and it creates a turning point in the fight against their illness. The Wish Experience works alongside their medicine and doctors believe that it makes the patients feel both physically and emotionally stronger in the fight against their illness. This is why the Wishes are granted. That's how the Madrid native champion announced the initiative on Twitter, encouraging all friends to rise up to the challenge, resulting in many who geared up to support this touching cause that would help make children's wishes come true from ages 3 to 18 with life-threatening medical conditions.
