The first round of the RBC Heritage was a fluke. Gonzalo Fernández Castaño is in the midst of recovering the best version of his game, which is exactly what he demonstrated on Friday at Hilton Head. The Madrid native did not make the cut, but he finished with one of the best cards in the second round.
He made 68 shots, three under par, with four birdies and just one bogey. He ended up just three shots away from being able to play this weekend, but it’s a positive outcome nonetheless. He found those good vibes again from tee to green, in fact it was among the best scores in this part of the Harbour Town Links. The problem was in the first round. Next week Gonzalo will be on route to New Orleans, to play the Zurich Classic.
