Gonzalo Fernández Castaño will begin his participation in the Valero Texas Open, PGA Tour event held at the JW Marriott TPC San Antonio. It will be the sixth consecutive week of play for the Madrid native in the US. The main objective is to find those good vibes again in his game and to put an end to the stretch of not making the last two cuts in a row.
Gonzalo will return to the west coast after the well known Florida Swing, four consecutive tournaments held in the Sunshine state in the US. The outcome wasn't very positive, but now it's time to look forward.
It's Fernández Castaño's second participation in the Valero Texas Open. He made his debut in 2013, just before his participation in the Masters at Augusta, and he didn't make the cut. Strangely enough, it's also the last opportunity to make it to the Masters. A victory in San Antonio yields a direct ticket to the first major tournament of the season.
Gonzalo will go out to play starting at 7:30 pm, Spanish Peninsular time, together with Billy Hurley III and Shane Lowry.
