Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño will begin the Arnold Palmer Invitational this Thursday, American tour tournament held each year at Bay Hill in Florida and of which one of the best golfers in history is host. We're talking, of course, about Arnold Palmer, known as the King.
The Madrid native has a very special relationship with this tournament. He made the best results of his career here on the PGA Tour, third in 2013, and it was precisely after that week in March years ago when Gonzalo began to think about going for the PGA Tour card and about moving shop to the US. It was the kilometer zero of a thrilling journey.
Two years later, Gonzalo trusts that Bay Hill will be the kilometer zero once again, but this time of the season. It's true that it's been a thin stretch, but the Spanish golfer is still waiting for his big break, to get a good upward hand on his card, and what better than in a place that brings him such good memories.
Fernández Castaño will play the first round this Thursday, starting at 12:35 pm, Spanish Peninsular time, together with Chad Campbell and Trevor Immelman.
