Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño was one of the stars of the show in the third round of the grand finale of the European Tour School, held at Lumine Golf in Tarragona.
The golfer from Madrid shot a 66 on the Lakes Course, the sixth best round of the day, and shot up like lightning in the rankings. In reality, he managed to get back into the game after a bad second day. He is currently situated at an accumulated total of PAR, two shots from the first cut, which will be established today with the top 70 and ties.
That 25th place milestone, which are those who will earn the card after the sixth round, is five shots away, a considerable distance, although it is possible to narrow the gap throughout the next three rounds left to play. That being said, the first step is to make the cut on Monday.
Gonzalo turned in a card with five birdies and no errors on Sunday, a magnificent performance under pressure, allowing for an optimistic outlook on the what’s left to play at Lumine.
