Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño will start the grande finale of the European Tour Qualifying School this Friday on the Lumine Golf course in Tarragona. Once again, the golfer from Madrid will attempt to secure the complete rights to play in the European Tour next year, and to improve his current category.
The School Final will be held in six days. The first four alternate between the Lakes course and the Hills course, with two rounds on each. After the fourth day, the top 70 golfers and ties will make the cut, and the two final rounds will be played on the Lakes course.
When the tournament finishes on the sixth day, the top 25 and ties will reach the 17th category. Keep in mind that Gonzalo has the 18th category secured at the moment. The playing conditions at Lumine are looking good, except for Sunday when strong winds are expected.
