Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño (+2) lost some ground in the third round of the Amundi Open de France in the European Tour.
The golfer from Madrid had a wild ride on the first thirteen holes. A battle to the death against Le Golf National, which he lost in the end with a card of 73 shots, bumping him down 23 places in the rankings.
Those thirteen holes were a total Russian roulette. He made five birdies, four bogeys and a triple bogey on the 13th hole, point at which this vicious circle came to an end with three pars. A crashing halt.
After that, he made five more pars, finishing with a more stable game of golf. In any event, the definitive factor was that 13th hole. Up until that point, he was able to dominate the Parisian course.
If there’s one thing Gonzalo has demonstrated this week, it’s that he’s capable of making lots of birdies at Le Golf National, which means all is not lost with one more round to go this Sunday.
