Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño (-3) shot under par, once again, in the third round of the BMW PGA Championship, and moved up several significant spots in the rankings, to 32nd place.
The golfer from Madrid shot a 70, with four birdies and two bogeys, and is preparing for a Sunday with a lot on the line. He’s just five shots away from the top ten, which would allow him to the seal the deal for next season. In any event, a ranking of 20th to 25th place would be a big step forward toward his goal of maintaining the card after the season is over.
Gonzalo’s biggest virtue this Saturday was his shots to green. He hit more than 70 percent of the greens despite having only hit the fairway less than half of the time. He was also on point with the putter.
Gonzalo will play this Sunday alongside Renato Paratore with the goal of playing under par, and to continue to climb up the rankings.
