Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño will play in the D+D Real Czech Masters over the weekend after a tough second round, but nonetheless, with a happy ending. The golfer from Madrid was on the edge throughout the whole day, fighting to make the cut, which was set at -3 in the end.
The pivotal moments were the two birdies the golfer from Madrid landed when time was almost up. He made them on the 6th and 8th holes (he started on the 10th hole), and finished with a final score of -4 (he shot a 70 in the second round), which means he’ll have the opportunity to continue to move up in the rankings over the weekend.
Gonzalo managed to slightly improve his performance from tee green in the second round, although the putter continues to be his best weapon at the Albatross Golf Resort in Prague. He’ll play in the third round alongside David Howell. Gonzalo has now made it past three consecutive cuts.
