Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (-5) shot a 69 in the final round of the Made in Denmark, finishing in 18th place, which helps him to continue to move up in the Race to Dubai rankings. The golfer from Madrid had a solid week of gold on Danish grounds, and he's now got two top 25s in a row under his belt in the European Tour, a clear indication that he's getting his game back.
Two birdies on the 4th and 5th holes completely opened up his options in the first third of the round, at least to finish within the top ten, but both bogeys came on the 9th and the 11th holes, which stopped him dead in his tracks as far as reaching those aspirations. In the end, two more birdies on the 14th and 15th sealed him in as one of the best golfers of the weekend at the windy Himmerland Golf (Farso, Denmark).
The Spanish golfer still has one more stop left to make next week in Belgium (Belgian Knockout), before returning home to Miami, with both the satisfaction and relief of having finally kick-started his season, after many weeks of hard work in attempts to give shape to his new swing ‘designed’ together with coach, Jamie Gough.
