Gonzalo Fernández Castaño had to withdrawal from the Oman Open after playing just one hole in the second round. The Spanish golfer had sharp pains in his left foot and, although he attempted to compete in spite of the pain, he quickly realized that he was in no condition to play, and he preferred not to run the risk of aggravating the injury even more.
He should be in good shape to play by next week in Oman, although he still has to get to the root of the problem with the injury to figure out how to treat it. Keep in mind that the golfer from Madrid planned on playing for three weeks straight, and he still has tournaments in Qatar and Kenya coming up.
