Tough day in the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa. The first round was dictated by the wind, which made things really difficult on the golfers. Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño got himself in quite a bind, but managed to hand in a well-deserved card under par with a total of 71 shots at the end of the day.
The golfer from Madrid made four birdies and three bogeys, off to a fantastic start, with two birdies on the first two holes. A good score, considering only 16 golfers shot under par in the morning games.
Gonzalo is currently in the top 25 of the tournament, just two shots from fourth place and five from the leader, which means he's in the fight for the win.
Gonzalo will play on Friday in the afternoon, in attempts to keep the good vibes rolling, and to finish the day out in the top ten.
