Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño did not have the Sunday he had hoped for in the British Masters, but it was enough to take another step forward in his quest to maintain the card for next year. He arrived to Walton Heath just a bit over 70,000 points away from his objective, and he’ll be leaving at 50,000. Good progress, which can still lead to finishing the job next week in the Andalucía Valderrama Masters.
Gonzalo shot a 76 in the last round of the British Masters. The round started off on the wrong foot since the beginning, with a triple bogey on the 2nd hole, the first par 5 at Walton Heath. From there, it was an all uphill battle. He tried to dig himself out of the hole, but he ended up with two more bogeys and just one birdie.
The playing conditions in England were, once again, very difficult, with rain and wind. Gonzalo finished with a final score of +3, in 42nd place.
