Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño will play in the British Masters starting this Thursday, the second-to-last opportunity to accumulate enough money to maintain the rights to play in the European Tour.
Gonzalo has very fond memories of the British Masters, seeing as how he won in 2008, ten years ago from today. But it was held on a different course back then, on the Belfry, whereas this week, it will be held on the epic Walton Heath course, sponsored by Justin Rose.
It’s the second-to-last tournament to maintain the rights to the complete card, although Gonzalo has already secured a minimum of 18 tournaments for next year with his current position in the rankings in the Race to Dubai. From now on, his situation can only improve.
Gonzalo will begin this Thursday in the British Masters, in the first game of the day.
