Throughout the weekend, when he arrived with all options open, not making a sole birdie on the par 5s in the two final rounds on the Irish course took its toll on Gonzalo, keeping in mind as well that these were the easiest holes played in the tournament. The golfer from Madrid will now travel to Scotland where the Scottish Open will take place, also a part of the millionaire Rolex Series tournaments, but he still has not secured a spot. On the one hand, he’s holding out to receive an invitation; and on the other hand, it’s quite possible that he’ll be one of the first on the waiting list there, in which case he could take advantage to opt out at the last minute due to injury or illness.
