Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño finished the Italian Open in thirteenth place. Two good rounds of 69 and 68 shots over the weekend on the Gardagolf Course in Brescia have allowed the Spanish golfer to accumulate a good amount of points for the Race to Dubai. He’s now in 123rd place, close to the top 100 who will maintain the card at the end of the season.
Gonzalo got the good vibrations back in Italy. He made 19 birdies throughout the four days, amazing stats of practically five birdies per round, and all four rounds were under par. Italy, country in which the golfer has won on two separate occasions, has been good to him one again.
He’ll set off with a great energy boost before returning home, to the US, to continue in the Web.com Tour. Next week, he’ll play in the Rust-Oleum Championship in Illinois.
