Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño started off strong in the second round of the Italian Open, second event of the season of the Rolex Series in the European Tour. The golfer from Madrid shot an exceptional 66 on the Gardagolf course in Brescia, and shot up in the rankings. He not only made the cut, but he’s going for it all this weekend.
Gonzalo is currently in thirteenth place with a total of six under par. The rankings are very tight, which means that anything can happen. In fact, he’s just five shots from the leader and three from the top ten.
We already know that the Spanish golfer performs well in Italy, and he’s proved it once again today. He made five birdies and zero errors, with an exceptional recovery from the bunker on the 18th hole to save the par, and finished with the fifth best score of the day.
