Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (-3) started off with a positive and promising round in the Club Colombia Championship, fourth tournament on the regular calendar of the Web.com in 2018, seeing as how the Spanish golfer from Madrid shot a 68 and is currently placed at just two shots away from the leaders right from the get-go, among whom is Australian golfer Rhein Gibson (-5), one of the best golfers of the season to date in the tour.
Fernández Castaño accumulated a total of five birdies and two bogeys with the coincidence of having let the three par 5s escape out from under his fingertips at the Bogotá Country Club, a course that’s certainly not giving anything away for free. The Spanish golfer will play this Friday in the morning session (at 12:50 Spanish time) which apparently, if the playing conditions remain stable, is favored to have better results, just like in the first round in the Colombian tournament, one of the highest-paying prize money events in the whole year.
