Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño ha jugado ya 27 hoyos en Pinehurst. Llegó el domingo por la noche a Carolina del Norte y jugó 18 hoyos el lunes y 9 el martes. Tiempo y golpes más que suficientes para saber que lo suyo con el recorrido Nº 2 es algo más que un flechazo.

Día duro y muy complejo en Augusta. Uno más. No es noticia. El asunto es que hoy apenas hubo viento, por lo que todas las dificultades las puso el campo. Los proverbiales greenes de Augusta han recuperado su condición de monstruitos. Nunca han sido juguetes, ni mucho menos, pero sí que de un tiempo a esta parte parecían haber relajado su condición pétrea. Hoy no. Estaban muy duros y muy rápidos, imposibles.

Regresa el madrileño a la competición tras casi un mes sin torneos a causa del calendario y de la condición de su tarjeta en el circuito americano. Las ganas van por delante.

Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño comienza este jueves el Arnold Palmer Invitational, torneo del circuito americano que se disputa cada año en el recorrido Bay Hill de Florida y del que es anfitrión uno de los golfistas más grandes de la historia. Hablamos, claro, de Arnold Palmer, conocido como el Rey. 

Gonzalo Fernández Castaño worked hard in the first round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He caught less than half the fairways and just nine greens, from which he was fighting to recover the entire round and to stay alive in the tournament. It was just the lackluster finale that overshadowed a magnificent battle. 

Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño ha realizado 74 golpes en la tercera jornada del Northern Trust Open y se encuentra con un acumulado de seis sobre el par, en el puesto 68º de la clasificación.
