Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño will compete in the Web.com Tour Qualifying School, final stage, starting this Thursday. The Madrid native already has the second division card from the US tour, but he’ll attempt to improve his status by way of a good performance. In his current state, he has only secured his presence in the first four tournaments of the year before the first re-ranking.
The tournament will be held over four days on the Whirlwind course in Arizona, and the main objective is to win, as it would guarantee him access to all of the tournaments of the season without having to go through any re-ranking. Good secondary objectives would be to finish among the top 10, which would secure his participation in twelve tournaments, or among the top 45, which would mean at least eight tournaments guaranteed.
Gonzalo will go into the Web.com school after having passed the European Tour test with flying colors, with confidence and high morale.
