Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño (-1) shot a 70 in the second round of the Final of the European Tour Qualifying School. The Spanish golfer played on the Lakes Course at Lumine Golf, with four birdies, one bogey and one double bogey, good results and, above all, an incredible response to a complicated start.
After the 6th hole, Gonzalo had a partial score of two over par for the day, losing sight of the top 25 and heading toward a difficult situation. However, on the back nine, he came through with a partial score of three under par, with three birdies and six pars. Solid and on point.
Gonzalo is now in 49th place, just two shots from the top 25 and with room to spare as far as 70th place, that which will determine the first cut this coming Tuesday after the fourth round. Remember that the top 25 and ties will be granted the European Tour card for next season.
