Gonzalo Fernández Castaño will play in the Andalucía Valderrama Masters starting this Thursday. He’ll be back in Spain after over a year and a half later, more ready than ever to have a big week.
He’s worked non-stop everyday under the close supervision of his coach, José Carlos Gutiérrez. From first thing Monday morning until sundown on Wednesday, the golfer from Madrid has been fine-tuning his swing.
Gonzalo’s favorite saying, tried and true, is “don’t get stuck on your swing”. He didn’t finish the Pro Am with the best vibes, and that’s what fueled him stay until the sunset today while shooting at the driving range.
Gonzalo’s goal is to have a good tournament, and in doing so, to get a big break, which would mean taking home the win to have the European Tour card directly served to him on a silver platter. It’s a difficult feat, but also an enticing goal, starting this Thursday at 1:25 pm on the 1st tee, with Nacho Elvira and Andrés Romero.
