Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (+4) did not make the cut in the DAP Championship, third tournament of the four that make up the Web.com, after shooting a 70, par for the day, in the second round.
The numbers and stats show that the Spanish golfer improved in practically all aspects of the game in the second round at the Canterbury Golf Club (Beachwood, Ohio), but it wasn’t enough to come back from the slip-ups on Thursday. Thus, there’s only one option left to earn back the rights to play in the PGA Tour for the 2017-18 season, which will be the Web.com Tour Championship next week.
He’ll have to put all his eggs in one basket, seeing as how he is not well-ranked in these finals (the top 25 earn the PGA Tour card back), and it’s very simple: he needs to finish in the top five at the Atlantic Beach Country Club in Florida, host to the very last tournament, to definitively secure his spot.
